Just when you think you should have ditched the bug-swarmed and understaffed paper-hatted, bow-tie serving Café du Monde for another local beignet fare, you realize that every last person is festively serenading Scot. Think the slow clap, but with four hundred and fifty people singing “Happy Birthday”. It was just one of the many reminders why the Vieux Carré is our home away from home.

I bet the bugs were also clapping for Scot’s birthday wish! Sounds like a good choice for a birthday cheer and of course the wonderful beignets!
